cesar G Saludos desde Venezuela, a mi me gusto la series Harley quinn el escuadron viajan al mundo mágico al estilo isekai dónde vienen dragones hombres bestias elfos y orcos me encanto la series Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/24 Full Review Jackson M Keep in mind when reading any reviews online that the show finished airing mid August, so anyone that has posted a review before then hasn't seen the full show. Also, I watched the show in sub, and NOT on Disney+ or related streaming platforms because the captions were slow and buggy (modern streaming services 🤢). It's also originally supposed to be in Japanese, not like Cyberpunk Edgerunners that's supposed to be in English. I personally prefer to watch shows in the language that the creators envisioned it in, because I believe that the emotions and vibe they're trying to convey are better captured.I can't deny that it didn't have a strong start. Episode 1 had some strange animation and pacing, and to be honest, I disliked it. However, I kept watching, in hopes of it getting better. Episodes 2-5 were pretty much average, nothing noteworthy really. However, episode 6 and 7 is where the show really picked up. I found myself binging the rest of the show. The show is really engaging (post episode 3) and also visually interesting. They did not hold back on the animation (aside from some weird bits in episode 1). It manages to balance good moments with the characters we know while building new characters, as well as the chemistry between the two. The plot isn't anything spectacular, but you can't point and say that it's too different than the two Suicide Squad movies. I was also pleasantly surprised with the twist at the very end. It made me genuinely excited to see a second season. The voice acting was amazing (again, I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles). The VA for Toji Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen really shined in his role as Peacemaker, as well as the Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and well, everyone's VA. The characters all had personality and growth. Additionally, the decisions and reactions all felt real. Sure, it's not perfect, but hey, it was very enjoyable, and I'm glad I watched it.That being said, I don't think anyone asked for this. There isn't much overlap between anime and DC, and if there is, they're just gonna watch DC's cartoons instead. I think DC wanted to see if they could hop on the trend of collabing with an anime studio to make an anime based off of their characters. Still a fun show though, it'd be cool if it somehow makes a comeback like a year from now. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Christopher M Love the art style, character designs, and animation. But the plot is just so boring. The suicide squad in a fantasy setting?...It just does not work. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/24 Full Review Derek L Despite Suicide Squad Isekai's art style is the main aspect that thrived throughout the episodes, it is a shame in addition to some pacing issues, that the story and characters lacked anything interesting. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Aaron B I love DC comics and anime, so to have a authentic anime (not just reskined animation) in the DCU is friggin awesome. I love their spins on the characters, especially the way they did joker, clayface, and of course Harley. I think I would love it regardless of how good the story is. Overall it has exceeded my expectations. I do think it's a bit of a niche audience but fans from either side should enjoy. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Jeremy R I hate this so much it’s very bad, can’t recommend it Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
