Coming from a smaller school like Coastal Carolina University, I really like and appreciate the cityscape aspect of USC here in Columbia, SC. The change from a somewhat rural area to the biggest city in South Carolina has been a noticeable, yet, welcomed change. I have very much so been enjoying my time up here and I cannot wait to experience even more of what this city has to offer!

I met life long friends, had wonderful experiences, learned life lessons inside and outside the classroom that made me better mentally, physically, and emotionally. My 4 years spent at Carolina truly prepared me for the professional world and future in the best way possible!

This will be my second year at the university and I absolutely love it. It's close to home, has an amazing safe, lively community and there's so much to experience here. I'm glad I chose this university. I've met so many new people, including friends and teachers and staff. I feel at home here!

At the University of South Carolina, I immersed myself in a rigorous academic environment, particularly excelling in my studies within the Computer Information Systems program. The university's comprehensive curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities provided me with a deep understanding of information technology, programming, and systems analysis. Beyond academics, I actively participated in student organizations and professional associations, which enriched my leadership skills and expanded my professional network. My time at the University of South Carolina was pivotal in honing my technical expertise and preparing me for a successful career in the tech industry.

My experience at University of South Carolina as a transfer student has been exceptional. Compared to my previous University, there are a plethora of dining options in many different locations. Professors are helpful, kind, humorous, and quick to respond; aside from the professors, I have had a great experience so far as quick responses go. The average doctors appointment on campus is within minutes, while outside providers will generally see you within three weeks. As someone who takes my physical and mental health seriously, I have had a lovely experience and felt heard and cared for with outside providers in the community as well as University providers. The students here are incredibly kind and accepting; the community does not seem to be very "cliquey," and it seems as though there is enough of a variety of people for anyone to find a community of people they love.

I would like them to stop giving out-of-state students in-state tuition. The parking is awful and they just upped the amount to park on campus without providing more parking. They aren’t building new dorms or parking and that has been the number one request among students, but they lie and say it’s a new student union. Only freshman are allowed to live in the dorms because they let too many students in because it’s all about money. Go somewhere else if you can because they will charge you for everything, and the cost of living in Columbia is outrageous. The financial aid office is horrible with staff there being rude. The academic side is decent though. It could be considered a party school, especially during football season and with Five Points down the road if you’re into that.

University of South Carolina is the best school. I transferred from a small school with under 10,000 people, and USC gave me the experience I was looking for. Great party scene and being in greek life is so fun!

My experience with South Carolina was an experience I wouldn't change for anything. I got to go to a bunch of soccer, football, and basketball games. I went to the dining hall almost every day too. My favorite part about coming here though is the amount of people I met and the amount of friends I made. The only thing I wish would change about college in general is the ability to go to college financially with that being loans and grants.

I had an interesting experience at UofSC. Coming into my freshman year during COVID, I felt a little disconnected from my peers as I was not able to have the true freshman experience. Once COVID died down a little bit, I was able to join extracurriculars and connect with my peers more through in-person classes. I thought that the classes were challenging, but not too challenging where I was discouraged by my professors. The professors were all extremely passionate about their material and were great. The only thing that was really bad about my experience was the food options. The dining halls did not offer the best food options for healthy eating as there were a lot of fast food places and the ingredients were not terribly fresh. Everything else about the school is great, I would only like to see the food options change for the future.

Dining hall food was not great; Capstone house was fun but very far from classes and on the outer edge of campus. Greek life makes the difference and our sports teams make it all that much more awesome. As a 2 semester dean's list student I would say the academic rigor is not quite where I think it should be, but I'm still glad to be a Gameco*ck!

My overall experience with the University of South Carolina is positive. Known for its strong academic programs, especially in business, public health, and engineering, the university offers a robust educational foundation. Its vibrant campus life is enhanced by diverse student organizations and a spirited community that rallies around Gameco*ck sports. The faculty is dedicated and accessible, often going the extra mile to support student success. Columbia’s warm climate and the campus's beautiful historic buildings create an inviting atmosphere. This synergy of academic excellence and enriching student life makes USC a compelling choice for many students.

Overall I have had an amazing experience at the University of South Carolina. The professors have always been super nice and willing to accommodate when necessary. The campus is beautiful and there is always things happening around it too. The only bad experience I have had there was my living situation in a sorority house. No fault to the university though, so overall it was good.

The campus is gorgeous. There is so much to do in town, you will never be bored! There are lots of great local restaurants to try. The sports facilities are amazing. The professors are highly knowledgeable and passionate. There is a lot of diversity in the student population. The university has an amazing social work program that I am thrilled to be a part of. Since it is in the capital, there are a lot of sights to see and history to learn about. The university has a very good international business program and it is great to see these students reach their potential to success. South Carolina also has the nation's top honors college which is a very prestigious honor. The students have tremendous school spirit and are always showing out for sports activities making the experience as fun as possible. The housing options looked very good and well maintained, students are equipped with everything the will need and more. There are lots of dining options on campus to choose from.

My experience at the university of South Carolina has been amazing! I love the atmosphere, it is a good balance between college town/parties and the downtown area and the school itself. They have made it very accessible for sporting events and by holding student events every week. One thing I would change is sometimes the dining hall options are not always the best but most of the time it is decent. Overall, I am very happy with my decision to come here.

I remember coming to the campus for a science lab in high school and the campus was very nostalgic, which was something I thoroughly enjoyed. Applying to the college to continue my education was a breeze due to the feasibility of navigating their site as well as, their compassionate and welcoming staff!

My first year at UofSC was great, coming into college I was scared of how much life was going to change and having to leave home. However, going to UofSC made it feel like I didn't leave, everyone is friendly, there are great campus events to make you feel included and like you're part of a family.

UofSC is an amazing school with a very history-rich area. The state house and scenery in Columbia makes it a great school with a lot to do in the surrounding area. The campus is beautiful and has a pretty good dining experience with many options. The school has a very active Greek life scene with thousands of students participating. Overall, it is a great school and an amazing area to be in

Overall my experience at the University of South Carolina has been very positive they have been very accommodating and very adaptive even when classes were all online due to COVID-19 and social distancing measures were in place. Student life on and off campus is exciting and engaging for everyone; there is plenty to for freshmen to seniors. I would say that I got the education I was expecting, I had great instructor for many classes that were passionate about both teaching and their field of study. While diversity of campus is not to the level it should be I have noticed that there is more compared to when I first started college. The University of South Carolina was a great experiences and I gained so much knowledge in and outside the classroom.

I like how large the campus is and the wide variety of opportunities available for many different interests/talents/hobbies. Some things that can improve include more student parking options and safety of the area.
